Elsie Foster Mattingly Kennedy, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 17, 1923 in Hancock Co. to the late Martin and Clara Ann Shadwick Foster. Elsie was a homemaker and had worked at General Electric during World War II. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of Dawson Baptist Church. Elsie had lived in Colorado, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Nebraska, and Guam before moving back to Kentucky in 1983. Her hobbies were ceramics, oil painting, and listening to music. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Douglas Mattingly on August 31, 1990 and Robert Lewis Kennedy on April 3, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Terry Mattingly of Oklahoma City, OK, a daughter, Janna Mattingly of Omaha, NE, a granddaughter, Joy Stricker of Colorado, and a brother, Kenneth E. Foster of Owensboro.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
