Ellis Edward Gray, 89, of Owensboro, died Friday, March 12, 2004 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. The Daviess County native was a retired farmer and member of the Rushing Wind Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, UK basketball, traveling and his pets. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Greer.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Irene Wright Gray; a son, Thomas E. Gray of Owensboro; three daughters, Janet Dukes of Owensboro, Marian Smith of Morrow, GA, and Betty Williamson of Okemah, OK; 10 grandchildren, Tamara Wedding, Amy Dukes, Eric Dukes, Ashley Dukes, Jason Lee Smith, Susan Payne, Kimberly Shannon, Penny Grant, Christy Sweeney, and Brian Greer; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 3 P.M. Monday, March 15, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday and after 12 noon on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Alzheimers Association or the Humane Society.
