Dr. Elliott Paxton Stevens, 93, of 1415 West First Street, Owensboro, Kentucky died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at his residence. Dr. Stevens practiced internal medicine until he was 73 in Daviess County and in Ohio County. He was a long time member of the American Medical Association and of the Kentucky Medical Association where he had served as president. Dr. Stevens was a World War II veteran having served in the Army and is a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Maud Crowder Stevens.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Geneva Allen Stevens; son, Allen Stevens and his wife Joan of Owensboro; daughters. Lynn Tomasetti and her husband Mike of Villa Hills, KY and Leslie Hartlage and her husband Mark of Lexington; grandsons, Craig Tomasetti (Maria), Chris Tomasetti (Sarah), Bryan Tomasetti, and Todd Hartlage; great-grandchildren, Alex Tomasetti, Brayden Tomasetti, Connor Tomasetti, Ava Tomasetti and Reese Tomasetti; brother, Kenneth Stevens of Beaver Dam; and a sister, Alma Shelley of Grand Blanc, MI.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Settle Memorial United Methodist Memorial Fund.
