Ellen Mae Gilles, 90, of One Park Place, Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert H. & Louella Jane McIntyre Moredock. She was retired as an assistant librarian at Owensboro Catholic High School after 17 years. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral where she was on the Altar Society and was a Eucharistic minister. She also had attended Owensboro Senior High School, was past president of the Sts. Joseph & Paul Church Altar Society and the Wendell Foster Center Guild. She loved reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Joseph Gilles in 1987, two sons, Commander John M. Gilles, U.S.N. in 1999 and James D. Smokey Gilles in 1996, two great grandsons, Jacob Allen Puckett and Alexander Neil Clark, and two sisters, Lucille Acton and Marian Roby.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Gilles Clark of Owensboro, three sons, Robert J. Bob & wife Mildred Gilles and William A. Bill & wife Dale Gilles, all of Owensboro, and Thomas E. Tom Gilles of Houston, Tx., two daughters-in-law, Janice Lanham Gilles of Owensboro and Paula Grant Gilles of Nashville, Tn., 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 28 at St. Stephen Cathedral with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 8:30 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be -------Monday at the funeral home.
