Ella Mae Taucher

Ella Mae Taucher, 82, of Owensboro, passed away October 15, 2023.  She was born in Sunny Slope, Arizona on March 28, 1941, to the late Fred Martin and Mary Ellen Cummings Long.  Ella was a selfless, caring woman who found joy in sharing her passion for cooking with her family, and the children she served while working at Owensboro Child Care Center.  She also enjoyed getting her hair done, watching T.V. shows and traveling, time at the beach, and camping.  Although very generous with her own gifts, she took time to enjoy the exhilarating atmosphere of the casino and the company of those she met along the way.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Taucher; sister, Vetta “Sparky” Lamb, and brother, Alfred Long.

Ella is survived by her children, Pansy Benson, Tammy Benson, Kent (Barb) Benson, and Michael Taucher; sister, Hazel Walker and brother, Fred Long; a grandchild and caregiver, Jacob Michael Taucher, along with a host of other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews of whom she loved dearly. 

The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens with burial following.
