Ella Mae Donovan, 87, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday April 15, 2018 at her home while in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Ella was born May 24, 1930 in Owensboro, to the late Henry and Ella Marret Carrico. She was a graduate of Owensboro Business College and worked two jobs for many years as a secretary at Cabinet for Human Resources where she retired from, and also in the Executive Inn Gift Shop. Ella was a member of the Merry Widows Club, Red Hat society, and the Friendship Investment Club. She also enjoyed antiques, flower gardening, cross stitch, cooking and baking, going shopping, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ella was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Payne; her second husband, Charles Bud Donovan; and a son, James Scott Keller.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Hancock and her husband, Dwayne, of Hanson; sons, Chris Payne and his wife, Theresa, of Owensboro, and Alex Payne and his wife, Sheila, of Jeffersontown; granddaughters, Emma Payne, Molly Galloway (Matthew), and Lauren Hancock; grandson, Caleb Payne (Taylor); and great grandsons, Owen Payne and Aydin Hancock.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
