Elizabeth Mischel Williams

January 24, 1916 — July 30, 2009

Elizabeth "Bettye" Mischel Williams, 93 of 608 Clay St., Owensboro, passed away on Thursday July 30, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess Co. to the late William George and Gertrude Spindler Mischel. She was a member of Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She was retired from General Electric after 42 years of service. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, playing cards, especially bridge, and playing the organ. She made various crafts including Christmas stockings, loved going out to eat with her grandchildren and sister, and had been a member of the American Business Women's Association. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Williams on Nov. 25, 1956 and her daughter, Anne Williams Roby on May 23, 1993.

Surviving are her eight grandchildren, Lisa Edge and husband Kevin of Whitesville, Jim Roby of Dayton, OH, Randy Roby and wife Robin, Andy Roby, Mike Roby and friend Gwen, Stephanie Roby and friend Marty, Angela Abel and husband Shane, all of Owensboro, and Pam Stegall and husband Shawn of Virginia, six great grandchildren, Justin Roby, Zack Roby, Jordan Roby, Alexis Abel, Courtney Abel, and Gabby Stegall, a sister, Cecelia "Dolly" Boarman of Owensboro, and son-in-law, Joseph Roby, Jr. of Owensboro.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 3 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 4:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
