Elizabeth Brewer Smith

Elizabeth Brewer Smith, 80, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2015. Elizabeth was born August 11, 1934 in New Orleans, LA to the late Clarence Wilbur and Mary Johnson Brewer. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Owensboro. Elizabeth was an accomplished seamstress and used her talents to help support local charities and clothing drives. As a military wife she was very involved in different military support organizations such as the Wives' Club. In her free time she enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Lt Colonel Richard Neal Smith, and brothers Bob and Bill Brewer.

Survivors include four daughters, Pamela Higdon (James) of Lagrange, Patricia Nunn (Rob) of Elizabethtown, Paula Newsom (Herman) of Dacula, GA, and Susan Shaver of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Gary W. Brewer of Owensboro, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a sister Lavelle (Bill) Gordon of Ponchatoula LA.

The funeral service will be 12 noon on Thursday July 2, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will start at 11 am on Thursday.
