Elizabeth Penny O'Neill

Elizabeth (Penny) O’Neill, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024 at Signature Healthcare—Hillcrest. She was born May 30, 1944, the daughter of a coal miner, and grew up in Eastern Kentucky before moving to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky. Penny lived in Owensboro for 55 years and worked as a medical transcriptionist at Owensboro Daviess County Hospital and as the office manager in the private practice of Dr. Patrick O’Neill, her husband, who preceded her in death in 1996.

She is survived by her daughter Paige O’Neill of San Francisco. Services are private. Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
