Elizabeth Clay Pendley

Mrs. Elizabeth Clay (Arnold) Pendley age 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 24th, 2015 at her home. She was born on August 22, 1927 to Guy and Mary (Nichols) Arnold.

Elizabeth worked at General Electric for several years. She worked for Daviess Co. Public Schools in the Migrant Program working with children of migrant workers until she retired in 1989. Elizabeth then volunteered at River Park Center for 18 years. She also volunteered her time to help establish a free clinic for medical care in Owensboro. Elizabeth had lifelong love of flowers and was an avid flower gardener. She was a member of the Third Baptist Church of Owensboro.

Above everything Elizabeth cherished her family. She enjoyed her time with her husband, sons, and was great influence on her granddaughter throughout their lives. Elizabeth had a large circle of family and friend and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband: Aubrey Pendley, two sons: Brice (Darlene) Pendley, and David Pendley both of Owensboro, two grandchildren: Miranda and Larkin Pendley of Owensboro, sister: Mary Catherine Covington of Greenville, KY.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother: James Arnold, sister: Juanita Finlinson.

Services will be Wednesday April 29th, 2015 at 12:00pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. James Byrd officiating, visitation will be Tuesday April 28th, 2015 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and from 10:00am Wednesday. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be given to The Third Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made to glennfuneralhome.com
