Elizabeth Rose Potts Murphy

Elizabeth Rose Potts Murphy, 92, of Owensboro, formerly of Jeffersontown, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Carmel Home in Owensboro. She was born in Lancaster, Ky. and was retired from Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital where she had worked as a secretary. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro. Her favorite pastime was bowling on a league which she enjoyed until the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth A. Potts and her second husband, James L. Murphy.

She is survived by her sons, Clarence Wearren "Sonny" Potts and Terry Alan Potts and wife Theresa, daughters, Metta Kay Steele and husband Jack and Rosalyn Elaine Tapp and husband Floyd, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, at the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Rd., Owensboro, Ky. 42303. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., E.S.T., Sunday, April 6, at Foreman Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Rd., Jeffersontown, Ky. with burial following in Jeffersontown Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make contributions to the Carmel Home.
