Elizabeth "Libby" Medley, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, August 23 surrounded by her loving family, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Libby was born July 10, 1934 in Daviess County to the late Parker and Nanette Elizabeth Osborne Isbell. She was retired from working at Home Interiors as a Sales Representative for over 30 years. Libby was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for 53 years and was a Sophia Award winner there also. She also loved to play Bingo, but most of all, Libby loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John L. Medley in 2011; daughter, Joy M. Lyons in 2015; great grandson, Christopher Joseph Calhoun; brother, Donnie Isbell; infant brother, Parker Isbell; and an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Isbell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Laura Potts (Steve), of Owensboro, Monica Calhoun (David), of Owensboro, Claudia Book (Brent), of Duluth, GA, and Susan Algie of Clearwater, FL; sons, Parker Medley and John Medley (Laura), of Owensboro; grandchildren, Rebekah Hornek (Adam), Hayley Lyons, Jakob Stiff (Amber), Stefan Calhoun (Megan), Vanessa Gentry (Mark), Brandon Towery, Ross Book (Amy), Rachael Simon, Harley Algie, Aaron Medley, and Evan Medley; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and favorite cousin, Larry Allen.
Libby is also survived by her sisters, Pat Vaught and Judy Adams of Owensboro; and brothers, David, Dickie, Chris, and Greg Isbell all of Owensboro, Phil Isbell of Evansville, and Tim Isbell of Cincinnati.
The funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Shaiju Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Friday from 2 till 8 PM with prayers at 6 PM and Saturday from 8:30 till 9:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
