Elizabeth JoAnn Hall, 71, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Daviess County to the late Woodrow and Trudy Smith Wilson.
Elizabeth was of the Roman Catholic Faith and retired from Ragu where she was employed for more than twenty years. She enjoyed bingo, playing the slots at "the boat" (Casino Aztar) and yard sales. Most of all, she enjoyed family. She could be described as a model mom. The family loved to go on vacations and trips. The children recall many good times camping and fishing, especially at Rough River where the family had a cabin. Elizabeth was a likeable person with a good sense of humor and she'll be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Anthony "Tony" Hall in 2011; brothers, Charles Otis "Buddy" Wilson and James Richard Wilson.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Denise Hall, Toni Thompson and her husband, Patrick; sons, Michael Hall and his wife Gina, Jason Hall and his wife Kara; grandchildren, Michelle, Cassidy, Zoe, Dion, Orion, Abby, Ava, Raymond, Lucy, Lily, Kaley, Ethan and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Bryanna, Adalie and a baby boy "on the way"; a sister, Betty "Sister" Cox; and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, October 5 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 until 7 PM and Wednesday after 9 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery.
