Elizabeth S. Green

Elizabeth "Liz" Green, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Signature Healthcare CenterHillcrest. She was born December 22, 1924 in Ohio Co., KY to the late Jess and Eunice Pollard Slack. She had been a cook for a number of years at Sorgho Elementary School and also at Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital from which she retired. Liz was a member of Sorgho Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially baking bread for Reid's Orchards Roadside stand on Highway 81. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Leo Green in 1980, a son, Glenn Green, and a daughter, Dorothy Dunn.

Surviving are a daughter, Ruby Green of Owensboro, a son, Wayne Green and wife Betty of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Green, Melanie (Logan) Beyke, Charlie (Keyna) Dunn, Robert Dunn, B.J. (Crystal) Dunn, and Chris (Tonya) Green, all of Owensboro, several great grandchildren, a sister, Nannette (Rip) Mattingly of Fordsville, and a brother, Jesse Slack of Owensboro.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 10 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Sorgho Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
