Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Hicks Chapman, 77, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 at her home. Born June 18, 1930 in West Louisville, Mrs. Chapman was the daughter of the late Thomas Roy and Addie Wellington Hicks; was a homemaker; member of Immaculate Catholic Church; had worked at the Cigar Factory for 13 years; and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Billy Chapman on November 4, 2007, daughter, Margaret Ann Dant; grandsons, Robbie Tucker and Billy Joe Lee; sisters, Pearl Cummings, Alyce Marotta, Margaret Lively, Imelda Murphy, and Helen Mayer; and brothers, Allen Hicks, Ed Hicks, and Tommy Hicks.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Pauley of Madisonville, Bobbi Tucker and Paula Ray both of Owensboro, and Mary Jane Smith of Council Bluffs, IA; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, T.R. Hicks of Owensboro.
A memorial mass will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
