Elisabeth Guenther Vaughan, 77, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at her residence. The Daviess Co. native was born August 24, 1929 to the late William Jacobs and Mary Lee Mills Guenther. Mrs. Vaughan was a member of Owensboro Christian Church and she volunteered at the Help Office and Read for the Blind. She had attended the University of Kentucky and was employed as an Interior Designer by Hubbuchs for seven years, after which she became self-employed.
In addition to her parents, those preceding her in death include her sister, Jean McClure and her grandson, Christopher William Swope.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph D. Vaughan, Jr., her daughters Lisa V. Heady and Carol V. Langdon, both of Owensboro, her sister, Mary Guenther McDonald, of Louisville, her grandsons, Brandon Swope and Austin L. Swope, both of Owensboro, her granddaughters, Marilee Langdon of Lexington, KY, and Lesley A. Langdon, of Owensboro, and her great-grandson, Aiden T. McCoy, of Owensboro.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2007 at the Chapel of Peace in Rosehill Cemetery with Minister Donnie Thomas officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Elisabeth Guenther Vaughan, c/o Joseph D. Vaughan, Jr., 1626 Sioux Place, Owensboro, KY 42301. The proceeds will be used as an Educational Fund for Aiden McCoy, her great-grandson.
