Eleanor Tollie Pfister Reynolds, 81, of Owensboro, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born in Narrows, Kentucky to the late Louis and Ruby (Sharp) Pfister on November 5, 1930. Eleanor was best known as she and her husband owned and operated the Dundee General Store for 20 years, and retired from Wetzel's Supermarket. She worked the polls for many years and was proud and humbled to be an American citizen. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved sewing, making suits, ties, patching old jeans, loved gardening, and hard work was her ethic. She was a devout United Methodist, teaching Sunday school many years, and she loved the congregations at Masonville, Thruston, and Dundee United Methodist Churches. She was a member of Masonville United Methodist Women, and Masonville Homemakers, and was a 4-H leader for many years.Eleanor cherished the company of her family.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Leslie H. Reynolds , children; Vickie Cline, Cindy (George) Lohmann, John L. (Jane) Reynolds and Scott Reynolds, all of Owensboro, five grandchildren; John L. (Marisa) Reynolds II of Owensboro, Jason Cline of Aurora, CO, David Cline of Denver, CO, Jackie and Jay Lohmann, both or Owensboro, a sister; Jeanne Baskett of Carmel, IN, a sister-in-law; Peggy Pfister of Owensboro, and three aunts; Nikki Armstrong of Madisonville, Jeanette (Allie) Curtis of New Philadelphia, OH, and Nellie Sharp or Hartford, and many nieces , nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2012 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Glenn Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 12 p.m. Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Masonville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
