Elaine Sparks, 91, of Parrish, Florida, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016.
She was born January 18, 1925 in Bath Co., KY to the late Earl and Hazel King Phelps. Elaine was a member of First Christian Church, had been a Sunday School teacher, and was one of the founding members of Century Christian Church. When her daughters were young, she had been a Girl Scout leader and president of the Parent Teachers Association at their school. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Harvey Allan Sparks in 1996, a grandson, William Clayton Burns in 2011, and a sister, Louise Maddox.
Surviving are her daughters, Janey Burns and husband John of Owensboro and Carol Blandford and husband Keith of Parrish, FL, four grandchildren, Tyler Blandford and Chelsea (Matt) Hendrix, all of Florida, Turner (Mandy) Burns of Owensboro, and Tate (Lauren) Burns of Chicago.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 8, in the chapel of Rosehill Cemetery. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
