Effie Virgie Elliott

Effie Virgie Husk Elliott, 90, of Owensboro, died Saturday, September 7, 2002 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Hancock County native retired from the mounting and exhaust departments at General Electric in Owensboro after 30 years. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Owensboro, Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Golden Years Club of Lifeline. She enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Elliott in 1983 and a daughter, Phyllis Kay Elliott in 1991.

Survivors include a daughter, Lena Saalwaechter of Owensboro; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:30 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. on Sunday and after 10 A.M. on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Kentucky Baptist Home for Children.
