Edward L. Parker

December 18, 1942 — September 9, 2015

Edward L. "Sarge" Parker, 72, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Winefred and Charlotte Robison Parker.
Sarge most recently retired from teaching at Apollo High School. He spent 23 years there as the leader of JROTC. Prior to that he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service. He was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church, American Legion James L. Yates Post #9, National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts, Air Force Sergeants Association and the retired Air Force Association.
Sarge was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Parker and a brother, Albert Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Leanna M. Parker; his sons, Edward Parker, Jr. (Tonya) of Omaha, Nebraska and John Parker (Crystal) of Tell City, Indiana; grandchildren, Sarah, Cheyenne and Kayla Parker, Breana Shrewsberry and Colin Veeck; a niece, Jennifer Parker; and a nephew, Terry Parker.
Services will be private.
