Edward C. Lewis, 65, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born September 13, 1951 in Evansville, In to the late Wilburn and Robbie Blackwell Lewis. Edward was retired as a riverboat captain with American Commercial Barge Lines and was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Edward was an advocate of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (A.S.C.P.A.).
Surviving are his wife, Linda Lewis, his son, Paul Lewis of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Clayton, Sam, and Caroline Lewis, all of Owensboro, a sister, Rita Ellington of Owensboro, and three nephews, Gary Miller of Owensboro, Jason Miller of Madisonville, and David Miller of Cadiz.
Private graveside services will be held with full military honors. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
