Edward Leo Krampe

December 8, 1931 — April 14, 2013

Edward Leo Krampe, 81, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his home. Born in Owensboro, a son of the late Leo Bernard and Rose Wink Krampe, he grew up in the Rome community, attended school at St. Martin and St. Joseph Catholic Schools, and graduated from St. Francis Academy. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mr. Krampe farmed, did carpentry work and was associated with Builders Discount Lumber. He enjoyed traveling and cruising, having visited the Caribbean, Alaska, Ireland, and Hawaii and participated in several farm and agricultural trips. Ed Krampe was a wonderful uncle and a John Deere man. He wished to express his appreciation to Dr. Sayed and Dr. Prajappati for their compassionate care and to the McDonalds coffee group who were so supportive of him during his illness. His sisters and brother preceding him in death were Margaret Elizabeth Stewart, Edna Marie Fulkerson and Robert Nicholas Krampe.

Mr. Krampe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol Scroggins Krampe; his sister Helen Rose Smith and her husband Norbert of Utica and his brother Eugene Joseph Krampe and his wife Becky, of Owensboro; along with a host of nieces and nephews including two sets of twins.

The funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where friends may visit after 10:30 a.m at the church. Private burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideon Productions which provides broadcast of the Catholic Mass or to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
