Edward H. Harper, 85, of Leitchfield passed away February 16, 2016 in Texas under the care of his daughter, Carol. He was born November 20, 1930 in Owensboro to the late Earl J. and Mary Schenk Harper. Mr. Harper was of the Methodist faith and an Air Force veteran and a self-employed painter by trade. Mr. Harper loved his family and taking them on trips around the country giving them many fond memories.
Mr. Harper was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 2014; brothers, Earl Harper, Jr., Robert Vincent Harper; and sister Martha Jean Harper Rutecki.
Survivors include his children: Vincent Harper of Texas, Eddie Harper and wife Cindy of Caneyville, Carol Truelove and husband John of Texas, Marilyn Cubbage of Leitchfield, Lisa Houchins of Bowling Green, Earl Harper and wife Sherry of Euless, Texas, Paula Mudd and husband Larry of Leitchfield, Howard "Butch" Elmore of Louisville; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters: Louise Tinsley and Betty Moorer of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.
The service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 23 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Bro. Scot Bratcher officiating. Visitation will be Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 and Tuesday from 12 noon at the funeral home. Entombment with military honors to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
