Edna R. Richardson

Edna R. Richardson, 100, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Cannelton, Indiana to Ed and Theckla Hanebuth Schwartz.

Mrs. Richardson served as a ward clerk at Owensboro Daviess County Hospital for many years. She was a longtime and active member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church where she participated in the Women's Missionary Society. Edna was a member of Daviess County Civitan Club and Merry Makers Square Dancing Club. She also enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Robert Richardson in 1993; a son, Norman Lee Groves in 2001; a sister, Margaret O'Hara; and brothers, Charles, Ernest, Lee and Robert Schwartz.

Edna is survived by daughters, Sharon Ebelhar and her husband, Danny and Vickie Sharber and her husband, Keith, all of Owensboro; a step-daughter, Judy "Julie" Waite of Saginaw, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10 AM Friday, June 9 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Randy Jones officiating. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Friday after 9:00 AM at the funeral home.
