Edith Vanover, 71, of 4817 Farmview Drive, Owensboro, died Saturday, October 16, 2004, at her residence. She was born September 27, 1933 to the late Harry and Myrtle Cornett Crawford in Harlan County. She had worked at many different jobs, but was most proud of being a brick mason. She attended The Fountain Church, helped serve food at The Pitino Shelter and loved playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Vanover, who died November 10, 1985; and her son, Darrell Joseph Vanover, who died May 14, 1974.
Survivors include three sons, Carl Vanover of Owensboro and William (Bill) Vanover of Owensboro, Terry Vanover of Crittenden, KY; two daughters, Eldora Bryant of Owensboro, and Pam Richards of Glencoe, KY; fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, Chris Crawford of Tennessee; two sisters, Nell Roberts and Allie Baker, both of Walton, KY; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 18, 2004, at The Fountain Church, 119 West 2nd Street, Owensboro, friends may visit at the church after 1:00 PM Monday. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be may at www.glennfuneralhome.com
