Edith Johnson Lynn

Edith Johnson Lynn, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010, and has gone to be in a better place. She was born January 18, 1925 to the late Henry Cecil Johnson and Josephine Murphy Johnson in Daviess County. She and her family enjoyed going to horse shows and showing AQHA Quarter horses, boating, riding jet skis, and riding four wheelers. They went to Turkey Bay for camping and water activities. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching classic movies, old movies, going to the movie theater, shopping and going out to eat with her friends in 2009. She watched Fox News daily and read the Messenger-Inquirer daily. She enjoyed the company of her seven friends in 2009 and 2010, and she watched Wheel of Fortune daily and was a good player of the game.

Edith and Oscar Paul Lynn were married in 1944, and she was preceded in death by him in 2007, and her daughter, Loretta Paulette Lynn in 1947, two brothers, Henry Cecil Johnson, Jr. and Robert William Johnson, two sisters, Julia Marie Morris and Mary Ruth Leek.

Survivors include her children: Paula Edith Payne, Olivia Paulette (Edward) Clayton and Oscar Paul (Annette) Lynn, Jr., all of Owensboro; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Louis Johnson and one sister, Josephine Qualls, both of Owensboro.

Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky 3419, Wathens Crossings, Owensboro, KY 42301.
