Edith D. King

Edith D. King, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her home. She was born in Ohio County to the late Gus and Rosie Ambrose Sharp.

Mrs. King enjoyed helping people and had worked as a private duty nurse for many years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. King was also a loving, dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Arthur L. "Todd" King in 2014; a daughter, Bonnie Lou King; sisters, Opal L. Fields, Anna S. Ditto, Juanita Howard, Thelma Aud and Joyce S. Tichenor; brothers, James L. Sharp and Kenneth L. Sharp.

Mrs. King is survived by her daughters, Connie S. Carter, Donna C. Higdon and her husband, Tom; grandchildren, Kevin Anderson and Kelly Anderson; great grandchildren, Joshua Hardison and Aiden John Ballew; a sister-in-law, Virgie Sharp, all of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

The service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Jerry Cotton will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3 until 8 PM and Tuesday after 12 PM at the funeral home.
