Edgar Dixon Jones

Edgar Eddie Dixon Jones, 78, of Owensboro passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Nebo, KY on October 31, 1928, Mr. Jones was the son of the late Thomas and Macie Ferguson Jones; owned/operated Jones Auto Radio Repair and Installation for 40 years; was an honorably discharged veteran of the Army serving during the Korean War; enjoyed horseback riding, playing cards, people and music; and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Evits Jones, sons, Byron Keith Jones and Gary Dixon Jones, sisters, Ruby Binkley, Margie Earl Cunningham, and Dorothy Jean Bailey, and a brother, David Basil OBryan.

Survivors include a son, Keith Jones of Fairfax, SC; a brother, George T. Jones of Owensboro; and sisters, Francis Louise Goodloe of San Antonio, TX and Jane Carolyn Stose of Washington, DC ; a grandson, Ethan Dixon Jones; several nieces and nephews including, Eddie Joe and Phyllis with whom he enjoyed many treasured moments; and his best friend and caregiver, Gary Renfrow..

Services are 1 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2007 at Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeremiah Phitts officiating and military honors provided by VFW Post 696.
