Eddy B. Harris, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born July 25, 1942 in Baldwin, Mississippi to the late Guy B. and Evelyn Hodges Harris. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and the Open Door Men's Sunday School class. Eddy was a graduate of Daviess County High School in 1960 and Mississippi State University having received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He had been in the Contracting and Construction business for many years having been a general contractor in several states including Hawaii, West Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, and Kentucky. He was the owner and C.E.O. of Commercial Warehousing, Inc. and the Owner and President of A & H Construction Co., Inc. for 38 years. He had built and owned many commercial warehouses and also had worked as a construction consultant. Eddy loved horses and had participated in quarter horse racing and barrel racing. He was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts that met at Settle Memorial and also enjoyed going to Ft. Myers Beach in Florida. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at J.D.'s Restaurant and was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Titans, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and U.K. basketball and was a member of the Owensboro Antique Car Club .
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Harris, two sons, Guy B. Harris II of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Donnie Harris of Vincennes, Indiana, a daughter, Candace A. Watson and husband Adam of Manchester, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, Guy B. Harris III, Luke Edward Harris, and Alison Elmore, all of Mt. Juliet, Jared D. Anderson, Carmen Anderson, Chesley Fuhrman, and Zachary Watson, all of Manchester, and one great grandson, William R. Harris.
The Funeral Service for Eddy Harris will be Noon Saturday, February 2, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
