Eddie "Jean" Hatfield, 65, of Owensboro, passed away on April 1, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess County.
Jean was a loving and dedicated homemaker. Prior to her disability she worked for the Daviess County School System as a teacher's aide who made home visits for many years. Jean also managed Wayne's Shell Station and the deli at Foodland following her time in the school system.
She was longtime member of Stanley Baptist Church. Jean loved to spend time with family, especially her grandsons. She and her grandsons often enjoyed "going to the movies" together.
Jean is survived by her husband of 30 years, Barry Hatfield; her father, Edward Goff of Ohio; mother, Wilma Leibfried of Owensboro; sons, Timmy Smith of Owensboro and Randy Turner of Louisville, KY; grandsons, Randall Turner, Ray Smith and Jeremy Penrod all of Owensboro; half-brother, Pat Leibfried of Owensboro and half-sister, Linda Cox of Hartford, KY.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 4 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Jerry Carter will officiate. Burial will be at Scherer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
