Eddie Ray Everly

Eddie Ray Everly, 61, of Owensboro passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side. The Daviess County native was born September 18, 1962, to the late Jerry Wayne Everly and Doris Ann Wink Everly. Eddie graduated from OHS, class of 1980. He received his associate degree in nursing from Kentucky Wesleyan College and was employed at Ohio County Hospital for over 25 years. Eddie was loved and well-respected among his peers and coworkers. He was quick-witted, respectful, humble, genuine and willing to mentor younger nurses. Eddie believed in paying it forward. He was an avid UK fan and loved golf and grilling, often entering cooking competitions with his sons. While spending time with his family was his greatest joy, he wanted to be remembered for the work the Lord did in him and as a person of faith who put his trust in Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Nies and brother, Mark Everly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifteen years, Sharon Crowe Everly; sons, Jonathan Crowe (MacKenzi) of Newburgh, Jared Crowe (Jonni Nottingham) of Daphne, Alabama, Jeremy Crowe (Kayla), and Jansen Crowe (Heaven) both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Josie Anne-Marie Crowe, John Luke Crowe, Jaxson Bryan Crowe, Jonathan Ray Crowe, and Lily Richardson; brothers, Jim Everly (Teresa Thomas) and Anthony Everly (Angela); sister, Lisa Brode (Troy); in-laws, Ray and Barbara Hodskins; numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at noon Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
