Earline Sharer Heflin, 76, of 4725 Foors Lane, Owensboro, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was born April 21, 1928, to the late Earl and Prince Williams Sharer in Daviess County. She was a homemaker, and a charter member of Masonville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over forty years. She was devoted to her family; she especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann Heflin Lanham, who died June 6, 1993, her brothers, Wren and Wilson Sharer, and a sister, Dorothy Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, LeVaughn Heflin of Owensboro; one daughter and her husband, Kathy (Greg) Olson of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Nicole Lanham Leech of Copperas Cove, TX, Natalie Lanham Smith of Owensboro, Nate Olson of Washington, DC; three great-grandchildren, Brooke Leech and Jackson Leech, both of Copperas Cove, TX, and Sebastian Smith of Owensboro; one brother, Gerald Sharer of Rochester, IL; one sister, Lu Saikley of Danville, IL; several nieces and nephews, including Patsy Brown Johnston and Richard Sonny Sharer, both who have always been very close to her; grand nieces and grand nephews and several cousins.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, at Masonville Baptist Church, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:30 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation Wednesday will be at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Memorial contibutions may be made to the Masonville Baptist Church, 6601 Hwy 231, Utica, KY, 42376.
