Earlene S. Owens

Earlene S. Owens, 71, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on August 31, 1942 in Henderson County, to Earl and Helen Spencer. Earlene loved to take care of people. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, especially geraniums and roses. Earlene also enjoyed watching UK Basketball, The Chew, Big Bang Theory and Dancing with the Stars. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Most of all, Earlene loved her family.

Earlene was preceded in death by her Father.

Survivors include her husband for 51 years, Homer E. Owens; Sons, Mark Owens (Jackie) and Kevin Owens (Tammy); Granddaughters, Whitley, Riliegh, Kennedi, Emma-Kate and Samantha; mother, Helen Clouse Spencer; two brothers, Tom Spencer (Mary) and Darrell Spencer (Laurie) and two sisters, Norma Wilkerson (Shirley) and Glenda Butler (Doug).

Services will be 10AM Saturday, March 1, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Bro. David Hocker officiating. Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Friday and after 9AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
