Earl Wayne McCrady, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation. He was born in Daviess County to the late Earl L. and Nola M. Hall McCrady.
Following 42 years of service, Mr. McCrady retired from Premium Allied Tool where he oversaw maintenance. He was a member of Owensboro First United Baptist Church and Ensor Masonic Lodge. Earl served with the Thruston Volunteer Fire Department from 1978 until 2005. This included the role of Chief from 1984 until 1987. He had also been recognized as an Honorable Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his son, David W. McCrady in 2017 and sister, Shirley Hodges in 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edna Holt McCrady; a daughter, Cheryl McCrady (Mary Ann Foran); grandchildren, William McCrady (Meredith) and Georgia McCrady; a “soon to be” great-grandchild, Wyatt; daughter-in-law, Christy McCrady; nieces, Donna Edgar and Pam Goodman; and a nephew, Tony Hodges.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 9 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
