Earl Claycomb, 73, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, August 26, 2005 at his home. Born August 8, 1932 in Breckenridge County, Mr. Claycomb was retired from Southern Tank where he was a truck driver. He was a member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church and enjoyed buying and selling antiques, NASCAR, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmet Emerson Claycomb.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Eubanks Claycomb; a son , James E. Claycomb and his wife Sandy of Gallatin, TN; three daughters Earlene Claycomb of Owensboro, Darlene Stallings Brown of Tell City, and Donna Cecil and her husband Steve of Owensboro; his mother, Lucille Curl Claycomb of Hawesville; seven grandchildren; Randy Stallings, Jr., April Hays, Angela Storey, Stephanie Claycomb, Jonathan Cecil, Jeffrey Cecil, and Tyler Claycomb; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Claycomb of Lewisport.
Funeral services are 1 P.M. Monday, August 29, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Prater and Dr. James Wedding officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-8 P.M. on Sunday and after 10 A.M.on Monday.
