Earl Lee Barker, Jr., 71, of Athens, TN, formerly of Owensboro, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Kindreds Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He was born June 25, 1938 to the late Earl and Velsie Mae Everly Barker in Daviess County. He retired from General Electric, where he had been past president of the local union. He enjoyed computers, CB'S, going on E-Bay, and any type of electronics.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Earl Barker, on March 25, 1966.
Survivors include his sons, Jeremy (Rachael) Barker of Port St. Lucie, FL, Chris (April) Barker of Whitesville, Kenny (Annette) Barker of Riceville, TN, and Tony (Kim) Barker of Tell City, IN; eight grandchildren, Jayden, Jaycee, Chase, Tyler, Brandon and Samantha Barker, Kelly Litherland, and Karrie Labhart; two step-grandchildren, James and Jesse Woodby; two great-grandchildren, Reese Litherland and Masen Labhart; a brother, Harold Barker of Queen Creek, AZ, and a sister, Betty Sue (Allen) Husk of Lexington.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Friday, at Rosehill Cemetery, with burial following. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Online condolences may be made at www.glennfuneralhome.com
