Dr. Eduardo R. Gonzales, 63, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Manila, Philippines, on November 8, 1959.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Gonzales earned his medical degree at Wake Forest University and undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. His work as a general surgeon saved the lives of many in Kentucky, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Dr. Gonzales was known for never meeting a stranger and having outstanding bedside manner. Family and friends will continue to be entertained by fond memories of his unique character and humor. Dr. Gonzales was especially passionate about tennis, enjoyed a good game of chess, and in recent years, became the source of some good hunting stories.
Dr. Gonzales is survived by his wife, Anne Gonzales; children, Gabriela and Grace Gonzales, Madison Minnig, Jonathan Chauvin, Jeremy Chauvin and Dr. Amanda Harrington; grandchildren, Abigail, Keira, Connor, and Christoper Chauvin; his parents, David and Lucila Chambers; his siblings, Jimmy Gonzales, Agnes Roach, Eva Dinion, Joe and Gigi Gonzales; and extended family, Elizabeth Lavares, Dr. Ismael Goco, Dr. Lori Kellam, Amy Bircher, Anne Kirby, Tomas Goco, Lorna, Scott, Rivka, and Ethan Ravede, Job Lavares, Patrick Lavares, Lourdes, Steve, and Haley McHargue, Dr. Fides Putong, Dr. Elizabeth Lavares, Leah Jacinto, Dr. Elsie Pascua, Alfonso Badillo Jr., Merle Ong, Tito Gozar, Dr. Joey Gozar, Beverly Gonzales, Kyle and Andrea Gonzales, Kieran Gonzales, Korbin, Kylie, and Kian Gonzales, Patrick Roach, Christina, Brent, Beckham, Graham, and Rowynn Devinney, Scott, Bianca, Jordan, Coco and Blu Roach, Mike Dinion, Teresa, Morgan, and Ethan Jarrett, Lauren, Kyle, Jackson, Hadley, and Harper Baker, Jojo and Lilly Gonzales, TJ Baker, Rita Gonzales, Amanda, Matthew, and Monica Golob, Lindsay and Sam Watson, Gil Gonzales, and many more.
A time of remembrance will be held Sunday, November 13 at 4:00 PM, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 PM.
