Douglas G. Miller

Douglas G. Miller, 82, of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 21, 1931 in Daviess Co. to the late Chester G. and Emory May Davis Miller. Mr. Miller was retired from farming and was a member of Utica Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran, an avid K.W.C. and U.K. basketball fan, and enjoyed bird hunting and coon hunting. He was a 1950 graduate of Utica High School and in past years, had been very active with the Utica Playground. He was a former director with the Daviess Co. Farm Bureau Association. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Hudson in 2004 and a sister, Sue Nalley in 1990.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary F. Miller, two daughters, Lee Carol (Keith) Main of Owensboro and Lisa (Bill) Grady of Louisville, three sons, Doug (Carla) Miller, Jr. of Philpot, David (Sandy) Miller of Owensboro, and Daniel Miller of Utica, 14 grandchildren, Bradley Main, Emory Haire, Beth Mason, Jenny Harris, Jared Miller, Jesse Miller, Rachel Miller, James Grady, Kallye Grady, Kordell Miller, Abbey Jo Miller, Amelia Miller, Isaac Miller, and Haleigh Miller, seven great grandchildren, Luke Main, Dylan and Darby Haire, Alaina, Logan, and Bennett Mason, and Della Harris, two brothers, Chester (Millie) Miller of Owensboro and J. C. (Karen) Miller of Stoutsville, OH, a sister, Joan (Henry) Morgan of Utica, a son-in-law, Keith Hudson of Owensboro, a sister-in-law, Margaret Frederick of Owensboro, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, August 10, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P. M. Friday and after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
