Douglas Craft, 85, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at his home. He was born June 6, 1923 to the late John and Lockie Staton Craft in McLean County. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church, a Navy Veteran of WW II, and had received 5 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was a successful businessman for many years in the insurance business, and as a commercial sub-division developer.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jarred Craft in 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patsy V. Craft; a son, Larry D. Craft and his wife, Janice T. of Owensboro; a sister, Wanda Jean Baize of South Carolina.
Services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess County Animal Shelter, 2620 Hwy 81, Owensboro, KY 42301.
