Douglas Reid Beane

Douglas R. Beane, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Wellington Parc. He was born May 25, 1937 in Daviess Co. to the late Alva R. and Evelyn Marie Capelle Beane. Douglas was a 55 year member of First Baptist Church and retired from the American Tobacco Co. as a bookkeeper. He was an avid runner, enjoyed working in his yard, and building plastic models. Douglas also enjoyed having lunch and coffee with his friends at McDonalds. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Robbins Beane in August of 2002.

Surviving are his daughters, Beth Hicks and husband Timothy of Owensboro and Jill Hartley and husband Patrick of Bowling Green, three grandchildren, Timothy Allen Hicks II and wife Ashlie of Owensboro, Rachel Hicks McCarthy and husband Zachariah of Owensboro, and Lauren Michelle Hartley of Boston, Massachusetts, and two great grandchildren, Liam Allen Hicks and Quinn Hayden Hicks, both of Owensboro.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 3, in the chapel of Owensboro Memorial Gardens with burial following.
