Dorothy Taylor Wright, 69, of Owensboro passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Chicago on October 26, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Helen Runkle Taylor; was a homemaker; and attended Hall Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Wright enjoyed bingo, collecting Indian artifacts and porcelain dolls, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also an avid animal lover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Taylor, William Taylor, and Edward Taylor, and a sister, Gloria Poliski.
Surviving are her children, Brenda Morris (Chris Smith) and Bobby D. Wright of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jessica Alsup (Dereck Messer), Amber Morris, Sarah (Marcus) Davis, Shana Wright, Brandy Seaton, and Bobby O. Wright; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, May McPherson of Morgantown, Trudy Snyder of Owensboro, and Darlene Peterson of Wisconsin.
Services are 3 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 in Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
