Dorothy Ann Whelan

Sister Dorothy Ann Whelan, 90, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died February 25, 2003, at Mount Saint Joseph. She was in her 71st year of religious life.

An educator for 55 years, the Howardstown native taught at Immaculate in Owenbsoro; St. Joseph in Leitchfield; St. Joseph in Mayfield; St. Anthony in Peonia; in the Louisville Archdiocese; and in Nebraska. She was Mount Saint Joseph Center librarian before retiring to the Motherhouse in 1996.

Survivors include a sister, Sister Mary Emily Whelan of Maple Mount, and many nieces and nephews.

Services are at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 28, at Mount Saint Joseph Chapel, maple Mount, KY, with burial in the convent cemetery at Maple Mount. A wake service will be held at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, February 27, 2003 also in the chapel, where visitation begins at 4 P.M.
