Dorothy Patrick Spencer

Dorothy Patrick Spencer, 90, beloved wife of the late Rev. W.O. Spencer, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, at her home. Born January 8, 1922 to the late Hobart and Bertha Tucker Patrick in McLean County, KY, she attended some classes at both Campbellsville College and the Jenkins Business College. She was a devoted wife and partner in ministry serving many churches during Brother Spencer's years of service. She was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church; enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, and reading; and was a dear friend to many. She also enjoyed traveling, including many trips to the Holy Land. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Rev. W.O. Spencer in 2005; a sister, Mae Wood Wainscott; and a brother, John Patrick.

Surviving are sisters, Frankie Young, Doris Woosley, and Ann Howell Wood and her husband Tony all of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews, including her special niece and caregiver, Faye Howard of Owensboro..

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Hall Street Baptist Church, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:30 a.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
