Dorothy Mae Noble, 84, of Owensboro, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born March 19, 1924, to the late William J. and Myrtle Robinson Bryan in Breckenridge County. She was a member of Cloverport Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was owner of Brite Idea Gift Shop in Troy, IN and worked at Murray Tile in Cloverport for several years. She was the first woman mayor of the town board of Troy, IN, and she had a life long love of politics. Her pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Lee Tindall and Jerry Noble; her daughter, Norma Lee Childers and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons; Alvin Tindall, Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann of Owensboro, Charles W. Tindall and his wife, Betty of Cloverport, Ronald E. Tindall and his wife, Janice of Utica, Larry Tindall of Central City, James A. Tindall of Tell City, IN, her daughter, Diana Lautner of Owensboro; 31 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew, in Florida.
Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the Pleasant Valley Community Church with burial in Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, with visitation on Sunday after 1:00 PM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
