Dorothy Nell Carver Merritt

Dorothy Nell Carver Merritt, 73, of Owensboro passed away Friday, May 18, 2007 at Wellington Parc. Born June 29, 1933 in Muhlenberg County, Mrs. Merritt was the daughter of the late Noble and Lucille Bethel Carver. She was a homemaker; member of South Hampton Baptist Church; and loved spending time with her family, traveling, going out to eat, and watching UK basketball. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Merritt in 1997 and a sister, Joann Westerfield.

She is survived by sons, Darrell (and Amy) Merritt of Owensboro, Joey Merritt of Louisville, and Robert Merritt of Owensboro; a sister, Janet (and Bob) Martin of Owensboro; and nieces, Teresa Westerfield and Pamela Westerfield of Greenville and Karen Franzell of Maceo..

Services are 3:00 P.M. Monday, May 21, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday and after 10 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Kentucky Baptist Home For Children.
