Dorothy Jean Booker Layman, 71, of Panter, Kentucky died Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems.
She was a member of Saint Stephen Cathedral and she enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Layman; two sons, Billy Layman of Friendly Village and Paul Layman of Panther; four daughters, Sharon Shields of Lewisport, Mary Reed of Owensboro, Betty Jo Payne of McCrory, ARK., and Becky Howe of Pellville; a brother, Billy Joe Booker of Knottsville; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be be held at Saint Stephen Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2002. Visitation will be from 1-8 on Thursday, September 12 with prayers at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
