While her family surrounded her with love Dorothy Mae Greenwalt Lanham, age 85, passed away September 20, 2012 at Twin Rivers Nursing Home after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She is finally home with her Momma and Daddy that she missed dearly.
She was a member at St. Stephen's Catholic Parrish.
She was retired from Barney's Callas Grill where she was the finest cook Owensboro has ever known. Dorothy volunteered those talents at the Pitino Shelter for many years after retiring.
She loved gardening, quilting and cooking and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
For twelve years she and her husband, Bill, spent many months on the road with the Good Sam Camping Club.
She was born to Everett and Virginia (Ling) Greenwalt in Livermore, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur Greenwalt, Charles Greenwalt and her sister Wilma Greenwalt Elliott.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years William ''Bill'' Lanham, 2 sons David Lanham (Mary), Dale Lanham (Terri) and three daughters Belinda Moody (Roger), Paula Wilson (Dennis) and Becky Chapman (Steve), all of Owensboro and 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.
''We have been missing our sweet wife and momma for so long now, that is not so hard to say goodbye. We are happy that she is in her real home with her Lord and Savior and her momma and daddy.''
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 24 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Fr. John Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 - 6 pm (with prayers at 5 pm) and on Monday after 9 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
