Dorothy Elizabeth Gossett

Dorothy Elizabeth Straney Gossett, 84, a native of Owensboro, died September 13, 2013 at her home. She was the last surviving child of the late Arthur Lee and Chlova Swift Straney. Dorothy retired from GE with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, sewing, music, wood working and cooking which she was fantastic at.

She also was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles E. Gossett.

Surviving are her son, Les (Lauran) Gossett of Owensboro; grandchildren, Evan (Meghan) Gossett of Owensboro and Kendra (Doug) Peace of Shepherdsville; great grandchildren, Charles Graham Gossett and Chloe Rhea Peace.

Services will be 10 AM Monday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Kenny Stone presiding. Burial will follow in Corley Chapel Cemetery in Graham. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Sunday and after 9 AM Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
