Dorothy Hoffman Draeger

Dorothy Hoffman Draeger, 83, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 5, 2014 at the Heartford House. She was born in Owensboro on March 12, 1931 to the late Laverne and Lelia Fowler Pickrell.

Dorothy was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and was formerly a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her children were blessed to call her "Mom".

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Raymond Hoffman; her husband of 8 years, Jerome Draeger; a son, Joseph Hoffman; a sister, Nancy Collignon and a brother, James Pickrell.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Higdon (Steve) of Owensboro, Amelia Johnston (Ed) of Louisville, and Ramonia Rowland (Dave) of Florence; a son, Stephen Hoffman (Diane) of Owensboro; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Hoffman; grandchildren, Lauren Higdon, Wesley Higdon, McKenzie Brooks (J.D.), Natalie Dale (Vadim), Anna Rowland, Emily Rowland, Gabrielle Hoffman, Francesca Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Hunter Dale, Eden Dale, Chloe Dale, and Tyler Higdon; step-children, Joe Draeger (Gayle,) Ricky Draeger ( Katricia), Tony Draeger (Beth), Aaron Draeger (Deniese), Denise O'Bryan (Mike), Beverly Bradley (Sid), and Patricia Sheahan (Timothy); sisters; JoAnn Kimmel (Jimmy), Patty Keith (R.C.), and Barbara Martin (Clifford); brothers, Gary Pickrell (Donna), and John Pickrell (Mary); many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

The funeral mass will be at 10 AM on Friday, August 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Bradley will officiate. Entombment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 PM with prayers at 7 and on Friday after 9 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dorothy's family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, and the beautiful caregivers at the Heartford House for their dedicated care.
