Dorothy Marie Clark

Dorothy Marie Ballard Freeman Clark, 84, of Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 2506 Veach Road, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2010 after a short illness. She was born in western Daviess County on February 9, 1925 to the late Joseph A. and Ellen Hayden Ballard, Sr. She has been a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church for over 58 years. She worked at General Electric, Ken-Rad, J. C. Pennys, and operated Freeman's Bar with her first husband from 1973-1979. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death, by her first husband of 31 years and the father of her daughters, Robert Griffin "Doc" Freeman in 1978, her second husband, Wayne E. Clark on Nov. 20, 2009, her middle grandson, Daniel Griffin Duke in 1993, two brothers, Joseph A. Ballard, Jr. and John Glenn Ballard, and two sisters, Mary Jo Knight and Emmajean Rafferty.

Surviving are two daughters, LaVonne Freeman Knott and her husband Billy, their son Robert William Knott and his wife Christine and their son and daughter, Jodi Hart and Cierra Knott, all of Owensboro, and daughter Paula Freeman Duke and her husband Emmett, their son Steven Patrick Duke and Daniel's two daughters, Chelsea and Brittany Duke, all of Owensboro, two great great grandchildren, three sisters, Louise Alvey of Moseleyville, and Rose Chapman and Wilma Smith, both of Owensboro, two sisters-in-law, Sarah Ballard and Frances Ballard, both of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, January 5, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 6:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
